Survival is a multifaceted health & safety firm headquartered in South West England with a North Wales office. Conceived in late 2016 when two friends with very similar interests (Scott Bressoud and Tim Liptrot) combined their many years of knowledge and experience in lifeguarding; aquatic safety; ocean safety & survival; first aid, and pre-hospital emergency response to create a partnership endeavouring to provide the highest quality, most convenient, and best value of its type in all related training particularly – first aid offered to the general public.

In 2018, Scott’s wife (Elizabeth Bressoud RN – Liz) joined Survival in the capacity of an assistant instructor, quality assurer and administrative assistant. Liz has over 30 years of nursing experience specializing in orthopaedics and paediatrics including first aid and emergency first aid to the general public.

Although Scott and Tim have specialisations more specific to ocean and aquatic environments, Survival offers a complete range of courses from basic First Aid with CPR/AED and Basic Life Support (BLS) – through tutoring entry-level learners in Advanced First Aid (for emergency first responders) as well as private tutoring in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

 

In addition to our complete range of First Aid/Emergency Response courses – we also offer a range of safety courses which (along with all our first aid courses) are Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) courses approved by Ofqual. Accordingly, all our first aid & CPR/AED courses are Ofqual certificated so there will never be a regulatory compliance concern with any certificate issued by Survival.​

Survival partners with organisations such as Qualsafe Awards (QA); Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS); American Heart Association (AHA); International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA); Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), and affiliates with the British Safety Council, Resuscitation Council (UK), National Association of EMTs (US), and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK).
